- Open Word
- Click the References Tab
- Modify the documentation style to MLA
- Find & click the Insert Citations command
- Click Add New Source from the Insert Citations Menu
- Use the Dialog Box to enter information to build the citation
- Click OK
- Notice that you have just created an in-text citation
- Part 2 - Editing Citations
- Click somewhere in the citation
- Click the Options Box (the dropdown)
- Click Edit Citation
- Type 34-42 in the Pages section of the dialog box
- Click OK
- Notice that you have edited the citation to include the page numbers
- Part 3 - Create a Bibliographical List
- Place the Insertion Point at the beginning of a new page
- Find the References Tab
- Click the Bibliography Command
- Click Insert Bibliography
- Part 4 - Modifying a Style Using the Styles Task Pane
- Click somewhere in the list of sources
- Click the Home Tab
- Click the Styles Dialog Box Launcher
- Click Bibliography to select it
- Click Modify on the Bibliography menu
- Choose Paragraph, No Spacing, No Spacing
- Find the Double Space Command and click it
- See the Preview to make sure it follows MLA format
- Check Automatically update
- Click OK, then Close
